Guillaume Hamel

Guillaume Hamel graduated from the University of Montreal in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. He is a registered member of the Professional Order of Physiotherapy of Quebec, and of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Guillaume obtained a certificate in Sport Physiotherapy Canada in 2007.
Since graduation, Guillaume has demonstrated strong interest in the field of sports medicine. He has participated as a member of medical teams in international, national and provincial athletic events. Acting as the head therapist for the Montreal Impact from 2005 to 2008, he travelled around the world with the team to: Italy, Portugal, Honduras, Mexico, etc. He was part of the medical team during the team's first performance in the CONCACAF tournament. Guillaume was also on the medical team for the University of Montreal Men's Soccer Team for three years during his studies. He now spends his energy and time working with sports associations from the West Island community of Montreal. He is in charge of multiple associations, including the cheerleading club "Flyers All-Starz", a team with whom he’s travelled with to Orlando since 2011. In 2007, he became Vice-President of Operations at Action Sport Physio, where he was named employee of the year two years in a row by his coworkers in 2010 and 2011, until his departure in 2012.
In October 2012, he co-founded Physiomentum Sports Medicine Center Inc. and has begun his own practice. He’s already established contracts with numerous sports associations, including the prominent Canadian Soccer Association.
Guillaume continues to develop his knowledge in various areas of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. To remain current with new techniques, he continues to take courses in Manual Therapy, Sports First Responder, McKenzie, Mulligan, Sport Massage, Neural Mobility, and Taping. He is certified in peripheal and vertebral manipulations and dry needling. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with clients and other physiotherapists through his conference appearances. Given his vast experience, he’s often in charge of physiotherapy interns from various universities.
